Browser-side lookups
OpenRDAP v1 runs RDAP lookups from your browser. When you search, your device may contact:
- IANA — to download the RDAP DNS bootstrap registry
- The authoritative RDAP server for the domain’s TLD
Your network provider, VPN, or corporate proxy may also see these requests.
Cloudflare hosting and analytics
OpenRDAP is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process normal request metadata to deliver, secure, and operate the site.
OpenRDAP also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics / Real User Monitoring to understand aggregate site usage and page-load performance. Cloudflare describes this as privacy-first analytics that collects limited browser performance and timing data and does not use visitors' personal data for analytics or track individuals across Cloudflare customer sites.
What OpenRDAP does not do (v1)
- Proxy RDAP queries through OpenRDAP servers
- Require an account or login
- Store your lookup history on OpenRDAP servers
- Use advertising analytics, cross-site tracking, or analytics cookies
Changes
If OpenRDAP adds new analytics, cookies, accounts, server-side query logging, or other data collection later, this page will be updated.
